For the month of May, I took the inaugural @color.noww class on the color BLUE. It’s a big color for me - almost too big and kinda tricky to focus on. But over the last four weeks I saw blue in odd places: as a name, as a verb, as a scientific “Every Sweater I Own” • 20 x 20 x 2.5 • Acrylic on Handwoven Cotton + Linen

For this year’s entries, I decided to try somethin new. It’s a fiber show after all - the “Doorbell” • 12 x 16 x 2.5 • Acrylic on Handwoven Cotton + Linen 

The dog was our doorbell. It was the only time he barked, really. It was such a convenient situation, and now I have no idea when anyone’s here. Though I d When I started this collection, I didn’t know our dog was sick. By the end of it, he was gone. This series of work holds a lot of grief, but it holds even more gratitude. Obviously I’m thankful for my time with the pup, but I’m also A recent mural for repeat clients @carter_higgins_orthodontics . They let me have my way with their newly renovated space, where I installed three murals that paid homage to the one I painted for them back in 2019 (at a different location, see last s One week ago, we said goodbye to our dear sweet Rally. 🤍 He was a fourteen year-old dog with lymphoma, and while we tried to treat it, we ultimately had to accept that he can’t live forever. Yet somehow, he remained a puppy until the very end. While my dad is a sweet supporter of my work, I wouldn’t say we always share the same taste for art. So, color me surprised when he not only responded strongly to a piece of mine, but interpreted it in a way I never could have imagined.
